Well...the MSM finally lost me!
I think they lost me somewhere between the nonstop Michael Jackson coverage and now the nonstop coverage of that Atlanta courthouse shooting, which I see as a local one day story and which has now morphed into some type of pro-Jesus™ MSM orgy.

To think that this type of crap is pumped into the 80% of America which gets 100% of its news from TV is just sad sad sad. Especially when there's so much important news going on, like Bush's failure to sell his SS "plan", or the republicans in the senate trying to rewrite the rules, or even more DeLay "ethics" nightmares...oy.

Just...oy.

Oh wait, they do take time (once in a while) to report that democracy is spreading in the Middle East like a glorious sunrise thanks to President Bush's wondrous leadership. Don't bother mentioning that the unexpected death of Arafat and the unexpected assassination of Rafiq Al-Hariri have more to do with this faux "democracy spreading" than anything else. *shakes head*

3. I saw an ad over the weekend for Headline News Prime (CNN).
"Keeping you up to date on all the latest court cases." or some such non-sense.
I just shook my head. It is not just fox that is "completely without merit" anymore.

10. Yes, I like that.
I've recently started using MSM, but have resisted for a long time, as I prefer a moniker that alludes to "corporate" or "corporation."

'CM' is better.

16. Some call us "ain'ts."
:D

Nevertheless, I've been a fan ever since I saw Tom Dempsey kick that 63 yarder, with half a foot, at Tulane Stadium in 1970. :)

18. One of THE great moments in sports. You saw it, incredible.
Hey, if the "ain'ts" and the Raiders suck next year, they can have a "Best of the Worst Bowl" in New Orleans. Raider fans would fit right in, or I should say, on the pavement of the French Quarter.

:D

If they do, come here for the games and party your ass off in the Quarter!

Y'all would fit right in with a bunch of French and Spanish Buccaneers. :toast:

21. haha...we'll bypass the SuperBowl to party...being in the old crew
and get Kenny Stabler to come off of that 'reformed carouser' act he's got going for that beautiful young wife he has (I'd do it to, but Kenny, say it ain't so).

...and as the sun begins to rise, we head down to the river to have some French Market and :donut: I used to travel a lot in the 80's a lot and I'd always arrange to stop in NO for a day or two 3-4 x's a year. What a place! CYA in the "Party Bowl"

:toast:

6. We have the same anniversary
I got disgusted enough to shut the damned thing off and it's stayed off.

I'd rather watch the Simpsons reruns during the propaganda hour. I get more news from them than I do from those blowdried twits on the network and local news.

Also, the cats are calmer now that I've stopped screaming "LIAR!" for an hour a night.

26. That is when my TV went off for good.
I actually feel as though I have become a better person since I haven't viewed any of the corporate news poison. I read the newspapers and DU, but I don't scream at my television anymore. It is refreshing not to watch the whitened teeth cheerleaders whore and insult my intelligence. :-)

7. Just Caught That Larry King Interview With Courthouse Shooter's Brother
That was the FIRST time I heard that Brian Nichols was a Hewlett Packard engineer making six figures and not just some common thug.

And the handful of stories I managed to google also said he was recently laid off from that job.

Boy is our media useless.

9. Here's a book we need to start passing around
Edited on Wed Mar-16-05 01:34 AM by Clark2008
In Bad News, Tom Fenton offers a fiery indictment of just how far "the news" has fallen. As a frequent voice in the wilderness himself -- who fought in vain to interest CBS in an Osama bin Laden interview in the 1990s -- Fenton reveals a news-gathering environment gutted by corporate bottom-lining bottom-feeders, staffed by dilatory producers and executives (who dismissed important stories as depressing or obscure), and dangerously dependent on images and information gathered by third-party sources. In hard-hitting interviews with Dan Rather, Peter Jennings, and Tom Brokaw, he exposes how even the anchors themselves believed they were outlandishly compensated -- while quality coverage was being slashed. And he charges that the news media must lose its entertainment-industry mindset and reestablish its role as a keeper of the public trust.

"This is not just a book," writes Fenton. "This is the beginning of a campaign to galvanize America. We need more and better news. Our lives depend on it."

13. I've been MSM free for 2 years now and loving it.....
If you do need a dose of television try www.TV4all.com 900 stations worldwide on the web for free. MTV with music! And lots of international news. The day the Iraq war began I shut my cable off because I didn't want to support the war in any way. For those that are addicted to the MSM the best way out is to cut off the cable. Get Netflix, get on the web, just get away from that MSM.

17. How dare they play up the Atlanta story while ignoring the
Wisconsin story about the church member who killed so many people at the hotel in Brookfield! Or, for that matter, how about the Kansas CHURCH PRESIDENT who was a serial murderer?

I was shopping tonight and thumbed through "The Purpose-Filled Life." It's sick, IMHO, because it teaches people to disconnect from the human race and that their only value is in their relationship to God.

25. LOL,they dropped the BTK story like a hot potato when facts came out..
Seeing how about 60% in Kansas vote Repuke and the fact that he was very involved in his Church.

Chances are REAL great that BTK was a card carrying Republican,Church President and then brutally strangled/raped/killed 10 or maybe as high as 13 people.

I did 8 years ago. I don't even know what MSM is!

I haven't seen annything about Jacksin (like I care anyway) or the courthouse. I get my news from the NET! Choice, varied, newsworthy. The sheep can have the pabulum.
