Social Security and the two to one whine fest
Conservatives are blathering on about the coming catastrophe when only two citizens will be paying to provide for one recipient of social security. How come no one goes past that point? When all of us "baby boomers" are dead, will not that ratio reverse itself? Yes!!! Why do politicians stop at the 2 for 1 mark? It would be so anti-conservative spin to go further into the future which will be here any day now. Gosh, if I were an idiot conservative I'd think there was a crisis too. bush says so.

1. Those two citizens will split the GDP between them, so they'll
...be able to afford it

3. 2 to 1 is not a problem as not all are retirees - after 2030 it is stable
at 2 to 1 and the projections are that 2 to 1 is not a strain on the system.

As usual - scare words only - then assertions - but the GOP and our media always avoid facts like the fact 2 to 1 does not cause a problem.

4. Social Security has been around for 70 years and had it's ups
and downs. Repugs have been trying to stop it of 70 years. If they see a bright spot on the horizon for SS, they will not bring it up. They just want to talk doom

Democrats on the other hand......I will talk to my Party leader and find out the answer to that question.
