Something you can DO: Join the Rapid Response Network
Here's the national home page:

http://www.rapidresponsenetwork.org/

And I believe there is a sub-network for each state - at least there is for mine.

I get state e-mails every day, asking for a coordinated response on a few specific action items. Periodically I get a national e-mail alerts as well.

3. You know I'm in every liberal organization
known to man.Everyday at least 1 hour is spent signing petitions E-mailing congressmen and senators companies you name it.How much good has it done?We have a repug president and congress every bill that I was against passed.Aim getting very very weary, unless you can muster together 10's of thousands of people you have very little chance. It is becoming increasingly apparent that DU doesn't command that kind of influence. It's a place to come and bitch and complain but never really come together as one coordinated attack on anything. It seems to me the posts with the most responses are "What's for supper".Sad state of affairs.

4. It's discouraging, I know..
but it seems some new groups that are popping up are very action oriented. I'll sign up for this one, too, because the Media is my top issue along with voting. But, the media is one where I don't need to have a statistical background to feel I can discuss.

Many of us have been doing "activism" since the Selection where we just knew we had to do something but didn't know where to go. Now, we have many places to go, but they all compete. Maybe that's good...I don't know.

I do feel like you do, lately. I don't see our numbers out there growing. It seems the same folks are signing up for everything. I'd like to see my state activism group grow, but instead its a small group who are pushing voting reform and trying to work on building a Progressive Wing of the Dem Party.

Most Americans don't seem to get how serious things are. But, maybe it's always been the "few" who had to "work for the many" until they get off their butts.
