6. I don't get it.
All major German papers do publish pro-Bush (generally intended as pro-America) and pro-Iraq-War articles on a regular basis. That's nothing new, it has been this way since 2000.
It is the German (European?) tradition of journalism, all positions have to be covered, but not necessarily in the same article.

7. At last, a foreign paper with one good thing to say about Shrub.
Milk it for all it's worth. (Not worth much, actually.)

rethinking bush policies--since they believe democracy is spreading.

12. Bushes & Cheney & Rumsfield supported strongmen who destabilized
democracy (but stabilized Oil wealth for the USA & Allies). Now they do not support and try to undo their 'strongmen' who destabilized democratic growth. So that the money now goes to the people rather than elites (who then pass some on to terrorists).

Was Bush right? If you undo what you did are you right? Are you right now? Were the Liberals, Progressive, Democrats and peace-nick right all along?

Bush is just using a tool that is long term Liberal one "democracy good" to meet an end: stop destabilizing democracies in the middle east - setting up a situation where if Islamists take over in one Oil Rich Arab country (Iran not Arab) (Afghanistan not oil rich) then they cannot spread the 'disease' without hitting DEMOCRACY in the face and them would be fighting words.

It is just another set up. Yeah and when you turn of the cash pipes to all the little groups you used to sponsor to destabilize any regime that wasn't giving the money to the Big Oil in the US, when you stop destabilizing the middle east - PEACE BREAKS OUT.

Was Bush Right? How could he be wrong - it was them that were in control the whole time!!

I am still waiting for Bush to take responsibility for the death of Arafat and the Lebanese guy (bad with names sorry).

14. Some questions and a point:
1. can we trust the press that's telling us of wondrous things happening in the ME.

2. Are the things that are happening "democracy on the march" (what, is it wearing jackboots?) or are we watching destabilization at work, something that won't become truly apparent for a while now.

3. Like Reagan, I think that other forces that are at work will be ignored, and the credit given to Bush if by some miracle the ME stabilizes and does okay.

4. The end still doesn't justify the means.
