Terror Suspects Buying Guns in U.S.
The New York Times reported this morning that a congressional report found that terror suspects were able to buy guns in America last year. This gets said many times, but we can all imagine what would be happening if this report had come out if Al Gore had become president and won reelection. This story would be all over the news and Republicans would be kicking and streaming about how this proves that we are unsafe and Gore is doing a horrible job protecting America. I think Democrats should begin to talk about this issue. For anyone who wants to find this article you can go to America Blog at americablog.blogspot.com or just go to the New York Times webpage.

6. How far are you willing to go with this idea?

What kinds of restrictions would you be willing to accept being put on people who are merely on a secret government list maintained by the Executive Branch (e.g. FBI), bypassing our judicial protections and all checks and balances on police power?

People on the secret lists haven't been charged or indicted for a crime. What is the difference between a "terrorism watch list" and any other list of criminal suspects?

Do you not see the potential for massive abuse?

4. training manuals of al Quida the CIA found said to buy guns in the US
for terrorists, there is no need to smuggle guns into the US when a sleeper cell can get them wholesale at a gun show.
