Katie bar the door? The Freepers are here!
These are pics from the DC Freepers visit to the Hill back in Nov, 2003. Funny, I don't remember any of us from DU getting invited to this event or any other event on the Hill. How come they could get passes and the deluxe treatment? How did they get through the security checks, especially since they spent the better part of Clinton's presidency protesting outside of the White House every weekend? Oh, I get it, it's only ok if you protest Democratic Presidents, then you get treated like royalty.

3. Democrats are much better looking.
The men, at least, look like the biggest wimps I've ever laid eyes on.

I hate to be so superficial, but, with pictures and no commentary, it's all I have. :)

Senate's marathon talk session a magnet for activists
BY PAUL SINGER

Chicago Tribune

WASHINGTON - (KRT) - Suddenly, the Capitol erupted into a rollicking, made-for-TV political carnival, where senators, activists and staff members sought any available microphone to expound on the evils of the Other Party.

To some, this may sound like business as usual. But the round-the-clock event - billed as the "Justice for Judges Marathon" - was an all-night, all-day stump speech by Republicans meant to highlight Democrats' refusal to allow votes on a handful of conservative nominees whom President Bush has selected for federal judgeships.

In a room just outside the Senate, pots of coffee perked along one wall next to boxes of sugar cookies with images of the American flag baked in. Cots had been brought in for senators and staff to use overnight.

<snip>

Republicans set up a rolling press conference in a large room just off the Senate floor where dozens of conservative activists and interest groups ranging from the Alexandria (Va.) Young Republicans to Americans for Tax Reform held forth every half hour or so from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

A table outside the room groaned under piles of literature from groups with names like the Concerned Women for America, the Second Amendment Sisters and Defenders of Property Rights, all demanding that the Democrats allow the Senate to vote on the judges.

11. Blond, blond, blond and blond.
Not surprised, but media coordinator really needs to lay off the bottle; fried hair = fried brain. Angelwood always reminds me of Rush Limbaugh; a chubby little fascist furball with a toxic narcissistic ego.
