Dean talks to reporters in MS, Trent Lott opens his mouth.
http://www.sunherald.com/mld/thesunherald/11025163.htm
SNIP..."JACKSON, Miss. - New Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean on Tuesday told Mississippi Democrats that their party can include people with a wide range of political beliefs.

Speaking to reporters before a state party dinner in Jackson, the former Vermont governor said Democrats who call themselves "pro-life" should be comfortable in the party.

"I think the biggest difference between pro-life people in the Democratic Party and pro-life people in the Republican Party is that pro-life Democrats care about children after they are born, not just before," Dean said.

Dean, an early front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination last year before his campaign faded after early primaries, was set to speak to a standing-room only crowd of about 900 at the Clarion Hotel near downtown Jackson."

SNIP..."U.S. Sen. Trent Lott, R-Miss., said last week that Dean has taken a "far left" position on the war in Iraq and other issues.

"It doesn't help the Democrats in Mississippi to have the image he projected in the past year," said Lott, who was getting help from his own national party when former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani spoke at a campaign fund-raiser in Jackson....."

17. I think it's so funny
:eyes: If you wanna know about a democrat and the democratic party policies, why listen to a republican? What in the world does he know? :eyes: And Dean is right about the republicans (big "r"). I do know a lot of republicans (small "r") who do good with kids who are in innercities and all that. A lot of the loud mouths I think probably don't. If they really were pro-life they'd be giving kids health care, proper education, work on the enviornment and all the other issues.

28. Everytime I see a Repo attack Dean (to help the Dems in the next
election cycle) I know we got the best party chair available.

Our opposition is afraid of a stand up guy like Dean.

5. Since Republicans are so quick to
try to attack Dean, this tells me they really see him as a threat.

Has no one ever wondered why they always yell--Dean had better not go
South. or any red state, esp South. Is there a fear some southerners
may find out the truth. Just asking??

7. Go Get 'Em, Dr. Dean!!!
Love that quote!!
I have, for years said the "right-to-life" crowd just loves life in the womb...and gives that same life a giant middle finger the second it is out of the womb!

To hear my very words echoed, though more diplomatically, by Dr. Dean, makes me feel vindicated.

12. GOP sent out an email about him in MS. Top ten bad things about Dean.
"The Mississippi Republican Party sent an e-mail to people on its mailing list Monday listing the "Top 10 Reasons Howard Dean is Wrong for the Magnolia State."

"Dean Wants To Remove Ten Commandments From Government Buildings," was the top reason on the list. The list also said Dean supports abortion rights groups and stereotypes Southerners."

18. The Ten Commandments
don't belong there! Would they like if it a pagan or wiccan group wanted to put up the crede in government buildings?! Surely not! So what gives them the right? There is a little thing in the Constiution that says the government isn't aloud to promote one religion over the other and that does include their beliefs and laws. Besides the Ten Commandemnts is a JEWISH thing! God gave the commandments to Moses who was a JEW! Duh! Jesus Christ didn't give the commandments. These people have no idea on their own religious history!

strike me as pretty tame compared to what many Republicans are throwing at Howard. At least he didn't imply he was a terrorist, adulterer, murderer, or lunatic.

See my article I linked above to Lott's remarks. Pot, meet kettle.

Unreal how they lecture us. They think we still have the Stockholm Syndrome, but the good doctor will take care of that soon.

They are spending more time attacking than trying to do good things for their state. What a shame.

Save Social Security!
Members of the Republican Party, and many Democrats stand with President Bush, and recognize that Social Security needs to be fixed now. While Social Security is sound for today's seniors, we must work together now to strengthen Social Security for our children and grandchildren. The longer we wait, the more difficult and costly it will be to fix the problem.
