12. Exactly
Only way we'll have an impeachment is if we win back and become a majority in 2006.

5. He's right, it won't happen with a republican House...
Which means we have to take over said House in '06. Forget '08, let's concentrate on the next one...

7. The shrub could barbcue a baby at his ranch and feed it to the
media whores and the repug leadership live on CNN and not one of those bastards would even concider impeachment. So get use to it as long as he lives he will be the unpresident.

8. No, I say we press on....
We need to continue to write/call/email to get this evil fuckup president out of office. His approval ratings are falling.

Write to your Representative and Rep Conyers.

The more letters - they could begin proceedings. Even the REPUKS will get on board if this sonuvabitch continues to destroy America.

14. Sure
You can try but I don't think it'll happen as long as the republicans have the power unless enough of their own write to them and they get hit with some of Bush's policies.

22. Sorry, it can't possibly happen regardless of how badly I want it to.
We need to focus squarely on 2006 and regaining a majority in at least one, if not both houses.

25. I can do more than one thing at a time...
And, I for one, never listen to anyone who say 'it cannot be done' or it 'cannot happen'. Usually those people have different motives for their statements.

Just because you don't think it can happen does not make it correct. Many many things were 'impossible' only to have the impossible happen.

A little positive mental attitude goes far my friend.

Luckily DUers, liberals, democrats make things happen!

10. I think that he's wrong, and I wish we really had a liberal rep
Look, if half of the stuff that we suspect is true, is revealed, GWB
will be out of there, remember Richard Nixon resigned over a break in and a cover up, what we have here is a trillion times worse, an illegal war, upwards of 100,000 casualties, cover-up of failure to prevent 9-11, you name it, we have a scandal about it. (bribes being doled out everywhere), a whore sitting in the white house for 2 years, a stolen election, misuse of federal funds for lawn mower races, misuse of homeland officials for electioneering, misuse of huricane relief fund in areas where there were no huricanes in Florida, you name it, we have it. What I don't like is Ed Schultz who is supposed to be liberal radio, saying impeachment aint going to happen. Yes it will, if this breaks open. We have to move forward, and be proactive. The minute someone makes you feel like giving in, just
fight harder.

16. He never said give up
he is just looking at the realistic chances. That means keep trying to get the message out to the people, as they can pressure their current reps and try to moderate to flip the houses.

Yet Congress is quite bought and paid for and any progress will be slow in the short term (though nothing is impossible).

18. You cannot impeach without a majority vote of the house and senate
Yeah, you can try it, but with the republicans controlling the house and senate, and a MAJORITY, in Bush's corner, impeachment can't happen at this moment. You would be more productive in putting your time and effort into 2006 at the grassroots level. Ed is right.

21. no accountability for GWB & Co. is a dangerous game
our country is going down the tubes, Iraq is just one symptom, we have to do everything we can do drag this country away from the abyss, this is not business as usual, one term for you, one term for me politics, we have to pick causes and lobby like hell for action, if GWB was a Gerald Ford or a Dwight Eisenhower things would be different but he is not, I am going to lobby like hell to keep this country afloat. He HAS to be held accountable, otherwise, there will be more stolen elections, more lies, more deception and more all out thuggery, we must stand up for what is right. Remember with Richard Nixon, just 1 protestor in Lafayette Park with a sign was enough to unnerve him.

13. Watergate is a good example
Dems had a majority in the HOuse and Senate and that meant chairmanship of the Judiciary Committees which is where the impeachment processes begin. THAT's why having ourmajority in those bodies of government is so important. It seems to me that it is almost impossible to unseat a sitting president without those majorities, which is why Bush doesn't even try hard to deceive us. He just lies and lies and knows so many of us know the truth but can't do anything about it.
