Onward Christian Soldiers - Our military recruiting in churches.
i went to this site from dailykos and couldn't believe my eyes. It's a report from a conservative who couldn't believe what he was experiencing when his Dad took him to church for a 'father/son' outing. The pictures are incredible and so is his closing statement:

And if you still try to tell me this administration will not attack Iran, there is no way I would remotely believe you. And I even question how they will manage to do such an insane thing. Instead of a draft (at least for the mean time), we have such sick invasion of places of worship? I am not sure which is worse. Wow...wow...wow.

I'm truly speechless. This is very significant. This has to be illegal. How can this be?

Everyone needs to read this.

If these guys ever showed up in my church I know I'd kick them out and tell them it was a place of worship and if anybody wanted to join the military they'd call them and I'd shoo them away. Insane! Ugh! Don't they remember the story of how Christ was upset people were loitering and having sales and stuff.

8. We need to take Jesus back
Everything Bush Inc is doing is what the
anti-Christ would be doing.

The Bushes are the Romans and we,
like Jesus and all the other protesters
of that day, will resist and persist.

2. That reminds me of a story . . .
After Jesus and his disciples reached Jerusalem, he went into the temple and began chasing out everyone who was selling and buying. He turned over the tables of the moneychangers and the benches of those who were selling doves. Jesus would not let anyone carry things through the temple. Then he taught the people and said, "The Scriptures say, `My house should be called a place of worship for all nations.' But you have made it a place where robbers hide!"

The chief priests and the teachers of the Law of Moses heard what Jesus said, and they started looking for a way to kill him. They were afraid of him, because the crowds were completely amazed at his teaching.

Mark 11:15-18

And now the "place of worship for all nations" is where killers are recruited.

5. Oh, yeah, it's been mentioned here, and...
I posted it on a Baptist peace list. Pretty horrifying, eh?

One of the Baptist ministers replied that he quit his job at another church because of the militarism going on. He was in a dilemma because the church was in a town that was about 80% military and their families, so preaching peace wasn't going to go down well at all.

It's not really illegal unless the church supports a particular candidate during an election. If a church can have a peace rally, it can also have a military one. Legally, that is. Whether or not it SHOULD hold one is another story.

12. Yup! Churches get well into all aspects of political policy!!
Living in one of the 11 anti gay marriage states, it was quite apparent which churches were against diversity, not just marriage.
They put stuff up on their signs and marquees that should turn many real Christians away before reaching the doors. Oddly enough some churches realized these good people needed a place to go for worship and put up signs welcoming all of any persuasion and diversity. There is a list of churches of diversity on line, but some of them, individually, give in to their memberships of strong bigotry for the sake of monetary support. Be careful where you go and where you give!
It is certainly more important to keep your heart open, than your pocket or checkbook!

9. We must all keep a vigilant watch
Good article, thanks. I never had much in-depth interest in politics until these last 5 years. I used to believe 'it'll all work out through the balance of power'. Well, there is no balance now and the hard shift to the far right must be watched. No time for complacency now...work towards sanity in 06/08.

in my church. I'd just shoo them away. I don't think God or Jesus would appreciate their church being a place to recruit people to go kill.
