Has anyone living in a red area of the country noticed neighbors
putting red lightbulb's in their front porch lights?

My next door neighbor is and Evangelical preacher and he has them and I noticed another neighbor that I have had dealings with in the past doing the same. The other neighbor is one of those NASCAR rednecks, so it certainly wouldn't surprise me if it is some kind of "solidarity" with bushitler movement.

I was thinking about buying a blue light for my front porch and getting a few others for some of my other neighbor's that I know are Kerry supporter's just to see if the Evangelical noticed it.

I live in a neighborhood of about 500 houses and have only seen two people with these red lights but both of them fit the thug profile.

24. I've heard that train of thought too, but in Colorado our bugs die off or
go inside during the winter. We don't really have very many even in the summertime but virtually NONE in the winter time. Lights went up in November and haven't come down since.

13. I know! that was my initial reaction too. That was how prostitutes
used to advertise! I think that practice was stopped because the authorities got wind of it. Maybe they'll start looking into that practice again?

If my neighbor didn't have little kids living in the house I'd think the prospect of the police knocking on his door to check up on his nighttime activities was kind of funny, but I wouldn't want his children to be scared.

22. Much as I despise my neighbor's political and religious interpretations
he is a Greek God of a man, truly. I wonder how his wife would feel about his swinging nature? She is the epitome of a quiet little house mouse. I think she would be willing to overlook an awful lot just to be perceived as the "perfect" little wife.

4. Inviting Bulldog Guckert over, perhaps?
If you have a neighborhood or homeowner's association, perhaps a gentle reminder about what "red-light district" means might be in order.

17. Alas, I live in one the last bastions of unicorporated and non-regulated
neighborhoods left in the state of Colorado! Love the tax breaks, but honestly my neighbors can do just about anything they want with their property!

In fact both the neighbors in question have been particularly voiceferous about OTHER neighbors not keeping their yards up and such!

So far they have effectively been told to shut their traps and leave their neighbors alone.

The Evangelical is literally surrounded by Kerry supporters so he probaly feels a little isolated.

Myabe a little note letting him know what the red light REALLY stands for would be effective?

6. I always thought red lights meant a whore house - thus the term "red light
district." But to answer your question, yes, I did see a neighbor with a red porch light and just laughed to myself that he didn't know what it stood for. It never entered my head that it had anything to do with politics.

19. Lights went up in November and are still there. I thought it was
a Christmas thing originally so I didn't really connect it to politics but the rest of their Christmas lights have long since disappeared!

11. When I lived in a college town, I often saw people doing this
while they were holding house parties. But wingnuts being what they are, they might have stolen the idea from the college students and the whorehouses. ;)

18. simple explanation
The red lights aren't supposed to attract as many bugs. Yeah, yeah, why don't they buy the yellow bug lights instead? Heck if I know, but people have doing this for my whole lifetime.

Even the spiders have died off or moved inside by now and as I posted above the lights went up in November, the beginning of winter, and haven't come down since.

26. The guy is a bit of a trouble maker IMO. I avoid him as much as possible
his wife is a church mouse but doesn't seem to have much of a brain if you know what I mean. One of the neighbor's had to press charges against him for literally trying to strangle her teenage son because he (the preacher) thought the kid had stolen a cap on his water sprinkler. My husband still speaks to him occasionally, but I won't even look at him.

Solidarity for a fellow mom and the bruises around my neighbor kids neck have made me steer clear. BTW, he got off with a "warning" and "community service."

Makes sense to me. Anyway, if we spread the opinion that we consider those red lights to be in support of "Gannon" how many will they put up?
You know, it's time for us to DEFINE what the opposition is doing. They way they do to Dems.
