Nevada Young Republican convention head accused of embezzlement

The chairman of the upcoming Young Republican National Convention in Las Vegas has been removed and accused of embezzling registration fees.
A criminal complaint filed (Monday) with Reno police alleges Nathan Taylor used 25-thousand dollars in convention money to pay bar tabs, personal loans and credit card debts.

Taylor worked as an intern in Governor Kenny Guinn's office during the 2003 Legislature. He has also worked for former Republican state Senator Mark James and at Las Vegas City Hall for then-City Councilman Michael McDonald.

1. He made one critical mistake.

He stole from other Republicans. If he had stolen that money from a charity, or an agency set up to help poor people, or something similar, he would have never found himself in the newspaper.
