12. Way too moderate
It's the wrong direction for the party. Becoming repuke-lites won't win in the long-run.

18. No, of course not
Judging by the posts on this site, Dean leans way too much towards the repukes to make party members happy. Also, when you look at Dean's record in Vermont, especially considering his state's pro-violence laws like allowing concealed carry of dangerous weapons even without a permit, you find that he isn't one of us.

I do agree that he will probably be a good leader. He doesn't seem nearly as scared of Bushie as some other party leaders.

25. judge the speech
http://www.democrats.org/news//200502120001.html

for example

We believe every American should have access to affordable health care. It is wrong that we remain the only industrialized nation in the world that does not assure health care for all of its citizens, particularly our children

We believe the path to a better future goes directly through our public schools.

We believe that every single American has a voice and that it should be heard in the halls of power every day. And most importantly, it ought to be heard by guaranteeing an open and fair vote on Election Day.

And finally, we believe that a lifetime of work earns you a retirement of dignity. We won't let that be put at risk by leaders who continually invent false crises to justify policies that don't work… in this case, borrowing from our children and shredding our country's social safety net in the process.

The President's plan for Social Security does nothing to guarantee Social Security's future. But it will cut benefits andcost an estimated 2 trillion dollars. According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, we will have to borrow 4.5 trillion dollars to finance the privatization of Social Security in the first 20 years alone.

22. Whether he's too liberal or too moderate, you better hate him
because that's what the Republicans want you to do. Always do what the Republicans want. :eyes:

I know, I know. It's ridiculous. The DNC chairman's job is to lead the fucking party to victory. He's not gonna impose his views on people. geez I wouldn't care if he supported the death penalty for bad kittens, He's still gonna stand up for us and fight off the wolves.

His policy against responding to blind quotes is just the beginning. "Some people say"....

26. The "blind quotes" sure reassured moi.....
Dr. Dean is no butt kisser, better yet, no fear of the MSM :)

I swear, we have to take back the media before we can reform campaigns, voting and elections.

I can't help but think DU had a little influence in the "grassroots" arena to get Dean to the Chair. Any smart DNC member would have been following the discussions here!

So who's the leader of our party anyhow....Dean or Reid? Never could figure this part of politics out :silly:
