Interesting hypothetical -- Remember Jesusland vs. the U.S. of Canada?
Alright -- if that was true, and the country really did split along the red-blue divide, who would be the top candidates for each "nation?" Who would you want to rescue from the other side of the border (good blue-staters that would be stuck in Jesusland)? If the swing states were given their own nation, who would their candidates be?

My thoughts -- and the likely roles they would play in the campaign:

RED:
Jeb Bush -- Establishment candidate with the early backing, but no momentum
Tom Delay -- Congressional hack who never gets the campaign off the ground
Sean Hannity -- Media personality who connects, but ultimately falls short
Ralph Reed -- Young, charismatic leader of a top Right-wing interest group
Zell Miller -- Crazy, old ranting madman

BLUE:
Hillary Clinton -- The "Jeb Bush" of the Blue team
Barbara Boxer -- Ideologically in line, but the title of Senator can only hurt
Michael Moore -- The Paul Revere of the Blues
Andrew Stern -- Um... Charismatic leader of a top Left-wing interest group
Howard Dean -- The darling of the revolutionaries who seceeded from Jesusland

Any other suggestions?

3. I think there would be a lot of pissed off democrats in the "red" states
But I assume you mean if ALL the republicans moved in one area and ALL the dems to another?

4. Ooh, we would have the best entertainment
Red states not allowed blue state tv. They would have to turn Branson into Red State Hollywood. JesusWood.
