Big Eddie RAILING about NYT Story on Newly Released Report
I listen to Big Eddie here:

http://www.super62.com/listen/index.php

but you can also listen at www.wegoted.com

Big Eddie is really MAD about this newly released story from the NYT that says the FAA and WH had plenty of warning about the twin towers being hit on 9/11/01. He's asking where is Howard Dean on this? Where are the Dems on this? This is the biggest story of the day! Why aren't we more upset about this? This was withheld from the American people until after the election. Big Eddie is going totally off on this!

1. Yeah, and the "liberal" NYT
In its story today on the report, the "liberal" NYT buried the most telling detail in the last couple of paragraphs of a story that was about 40 paragraphs long: That the 9/11 commission report was held up for five months by the corrupt Bush administration.

Gee, do you think this report might have had some bearing on how people decided to vote for in November if it has been released in September???

4. We should listen to Big Ed
If things were turned around the Republicans would be going off big time. Ed knows how they operate and we should learn from his knowledge. It's time for Democrats to play the game the way the Republicans do. Where is everyone on this?

17. Slaughter doesn't get the attention she deserves. She's great on Media
issues and has been tireless in her support. Plus, she's very fun to listen to..

6. I don't trust the guy personally.
He sounds like a right-winger to me. He has that "I am right, so you must be wrong" attitude that typifies right-wingers, even when he's arguing for marginally left-wing issues.

Even Randi Rhodes said she doesn't like the guy. That's pretty unusual coming from someone on the same network.

7. I don't think they're on the same network.
Randi is AAR. Ed is syndicated by Jones Radio Net. Seems like a huge number of AAR affiliates carry Ed though. Not that it's a big deal.

I have to admit Ed is starting to grow on me. I used to think he was too open-ended and nice with his RW callers (he lets far too many on) but in the past few days, he has handed RW apologists their ass repeatedly and in a big way and it's good to hear. And frankly, regardless of what you think of him, Schultz is the radio-liberal who is most likely to crack the dam and start getting a lot of moderates and Reagan-Dems back on board - specifically because he does have a lot of "non liberal" positions, such as gun control, etc. As much as I sometimes cringe at his show, he's the guy carrying the banner of liberal radio right now, and we could do sooooooo much worse.

11. He lets everyone on, no ideological screening, no hanging up.
He can reach out, ask the hard questions, and the some of the "righties" even listen. It's a start in overcoming the barrage of brainwashing against the mythical "liberals" we have experienced for the last 20 years.

13. He has a respectable audience share in Phoenix already, and Phoenix
is MAJOR red (the rest of AZ far less so).

I like him even though he isn't as far left as I would prefer, but he's the guy who's gonna get Joe Sixpack to listen to our POV.

14. I've never listened to him, but I can tell you we need people like him...
...as well as some of the more hard-edged folks like Malloy. I don't have the patience to be the person who bridges the gap so I'm thankful for those who can, especially those with an audience.

16. He can draw in the folks disillusioned with Limbaugh's rehtoric...
folks who want a "Limbaugh type" but don't want Rush Lies.

He has alot of Dem House and Senate Reps on his show. Those who don't watch C-Span's only way of known that there truly are DEMS out there working for them.

I know he sounds too much like Limbaugh for many DU'ers..but this Limbaugh barfing Dem still tries to catch him a few times a week and Ed Schultz grows on you...if you are a centrest...he's definitely trying to bridge the gap between the Limaughs and the Dem Center...but he does have a little bit of a LEFTY edge...and I'm a Lefty as far as activism and disgust with DNC/DLC :puke: but still a centrist in some way...

21. I've read his book...
and I can tell you that "Big Eddie" gets it. Page after page I'm saying to myself, we finally got somebody on the air that understands the game the conservatives are playing.

He likes to hunt and owns guns, but big deal. He's as solid a liberal as you will find and he's a radio professional who knows how to communicate our values and uncover for the public the tricks of the righties.

I wish his show was funnier, like Al Franken's, but he is who he is. And he's carrying the fight to the enemy.

as he described Bushie reading "My Pet Goat" ....he said: "He Knew."

That's a first! I know I heard him say that... Wonder if more shit's gonna hit the fan soon. Why else would he say it?

Edited on Thu Feb-10-05 11:59 PM by KoKo01
I had to tune out of Schultz for the last part of his show to do something else. He was on and said that? Some DU'ers speculated there was something odd about him dropping out.

What was he threatened over?
