If the media were doing its job, we'd all know the truth about SS.

If the media were doing its job, we'd all know the truth about SS.
We would all know that the Bush plan will bankrupt SS faster, that the Bush plan will reduce benefits, and that the reform option that could probably help the most (the lifting of the salary cap on payroll taxes) has been ruled out by the Bush crew.

Instead, what do we get?

We get footage of Bush at his stage-managed "town hall meetings" talking about the dire need for immediate reform.

We get "fair and balanced" interviews with a Democratic strategist and a Republican strategist, in which they simply recite their talking points.

This is pathetic. The media has become so scared of even the tiniest perception of "liberal bias" that they've stopped reporting facts... unless the facts deal with Jacko's jock or Kobe's crotch.

The truth is not biased. It's simply the truth.

1. Ain't it the truth
though I have yet to see even a Democratic strategist.

Even on CNN, for example, I caught a bit of the SOTU sham and noticed the camera tended to focus more on the standing cheering Republicans and avoided the Democrats in their seats.

Not accurate coverage of our state of affairs at all.
