2. good read and I see Howie Kurtz was feeling sorry for Gannon
on Wolfie's show yesterday. The mainstream media is trying to soft peddal this as "many reporters wear their political views on their sleaves--conservative and liberal--Gannon never tried to disguise that he was a conservative."

8. Boy, I'm sick of this clown
Kurtz is really letting his bias show of late. His hatchet job on CBS was just a little too enjoyable for him.

He is almost as much of an enabler as Woodward, and what's worse is that it isn't readily apparent.

3. The article is very well done - fair and balanced
Was really discouraged that there were no questions from the press to McClellan about "Gannongate" during the gaggle.

Made an excellent analogy of McClellan not vetting the media was just as ridiculous as the head of a hospital not knowing whether a surgery was qualified to do his job or not. If not the press secretary then who has the job of passing out credentials?

Are the WH reporters just going to let McClellan slide on this story?

4. I love this quote from his article
Pretty much every day, Gannon got cleared into the White House briefing room by a press office that knew his real name. Press Secretary Scott McClellan frequently called on him during the mid-day briefings, using his fake name. McClellan was consistently rewarded with questions that -- in stark contrast from most of what passes for questions in that room -- were more expressions of conservative dogma than actual attempts to elicit information. Members of the press corps individually confronted Gannon and told him that he didn't belong there. But nothing more serious than that happened -- until Bush called on him at his televised Jan. 26 news conference and he asked a loaded, inaccurate question partly derived from a Rush Limbaugh joke.

Legitimate reporters know this type of propaganda and this particular episode reflect badly on them. Now what are they going to do about it?

6. They confronted but
never exposed him.

They have a chance to make up for it now...let's see if they do it, or, with our "help" are forced to do it.....

7. this column is the best every day.
Dan Froomkin is exceptional because he quotes blogs nearly as often as he quotes MSM.
