God Dang it....I hate agreeing with W. Pitt on his Dean thread today!
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 05:39 PM by trumad
Pitt's point of how the Media will saturate Moron America with the Dean scream is unfortunatly, dead on. I HATE THAT! Not because Will said it, but because I've already witnessed it from my non-political friends.

Sure enough they asked me if I saw Dean go off and sure enough they stated that the guy is crazy. They didn't see or here the whole speech and the context of the speech, they only witnessed the one segment of Dean screaming. Media saturation! Media saturation! Media Saturation.

Will Pitt made a point a long time ago here at DU...We DU'ers make up a very small portion of the Democratic Party and the voting public. The vast majority of voters couldn't tell you squat about the political world. They get their info from soundbites provied by the er...liberal media. :eyes:

As much as I hate to say it... Dean's fucked!

1. You're right!
Howard Dean is "focked"!

But, I prefer to stick with the captain and go down on this ship.

Dean spoke for me, when no one else would and for that, I'm grateful.

But, That's just my opinion.

2. I think he can come back...
And I'm a Kerry voter.

But all I've heard at work and the barber shop - yesterday and today - is exactly what you said in your post.

But Clinton came back from the Gennifer Flowers scandal during the primaries.

One rally cry does not a sunk campaign make.

3. I'm sorry, I understand
why you're upset and you certainly do have a point about how the media whores spin things, but in this case, when it comes to Dean, I think they have a point. It's why I'm not a Dean supporter anymore.

You cannot run a campaign solely on the "politics of anger", sooner or later you need more substance and more of a platform. Dean does not have the temperament necessary, and he looked like an absolute fool during his speech Monday night. My parents, who wanted to like him, thought he was drunk. And they didn't like his all-too-noticeable streak of menace, either.

I'm sorry, I still like Dean, but I just don't think he's electable.

4. You don't need to start a new thread for this
If you wish to agree with Will's sentiments, his thread is here:
