  The third ad (especially) is a metaphor for our country being run by butt-kissing yes men. The guy shows up at work and struggles to do his job, give his input saying, Sir, I just think it's a bad idea to name a product "The Titanic." He is rejected, bombarded with bananas and more. 'Sir' continues on course, steering the ship (of state?) straight into disaster with approval from his cadre of shrieking chimp yes men, one of whom gets up and kisses Sir's butt.
  
  
• U2's Sunday Bloody Sunday played during second half - Nick Coleman was outraged because the song is about British paratroopers firing on and killing unarmed civilians in Northern Ireland who were protesting the govt's policy of internment of citizens without due process of law or trial. unmistakable beginning with the pregame tribute to the Greatest Generation (Heroes), to the airport ad with pristine, serene troops (Heroes) returning to civilian applause. Heroes everywhere you look.

There was a concerted effort to draw kids in, using the little boy in football gear to toss the coin with his Heroes, the NFL troops, patting him on the head in approval. I'm a parent and this struck me hard. Heroes. Little boy viewers thought, 'I want to be like them.' Older viewers might have thought, 'Let's bring those little guys up right so they can be Heroes...'

You might not be able to grow up and be an NFL hero, but you can enlist and be one of those military heroes. You'll get to wear a uniform and wear medals, be applauded and be a hero.

Will there be any upticks in enlistment numbers after Super Bowl weekend? You betcha.

What an inappropriate song under current circumstances (or actually appropriate)....never cared much for McCartney anyway.....People just don't listen, or understand lyrics sometimes.
