16. Type A predators....
...always get to where they are because they're hard wired for brutality at every level. Name any industry (private or public) and you'll find the same diagnostic characteristics in every "leader."

yes and it was said easily. Can you imagine this pinhead in a control room with his scaled down model of a war zone, with his little G.I. Joe men, saying "bang, bang your dead".

10. How Many Trained Iraqis Do You Need....? That's Easy...
You need X if there's this many Iraqi insurgents (gesturing with his hand) and X Plus if there's this many (raising his hand)

This is ridiculous......he's a nut job...

17. He reduced it down....
...to a profit and loss statement. Truly a sign of a coward who has never faced whithering fire from a determined enemy (or returned fire effectively). Rumsfeld's claim to fame as far as uniformed service? He served as a navigator for the Navy in between Korea and Vietnam.

14. No, I cannot
He's not an idiot. He knows what's going, and he knows what he's saying. He's not out there talking for people like you and me. He's out there talking to the 59 million people who voted for Bush. He knows who his audience is.

The whole group(Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Cheney, Kristol, Gaffney, Perle, etc, etc, etc) all come from the same school(in some cases literally the same school). They come from the Machiavellian/Straussian philosophy.

"The United States has for decades sought to play a more permanent role in Gulf regional security. While the unresolved conflict with Iraq provides the immediate justification, the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein."

An idiot couldn't get something like that done.

15. A Few Thoughts
Rummy certainly knows his audience. As far as 59 Million people voting for BushCo., there is a not insignificant amount of people that believe the election was stolen.

In regard to American force presence in the Gulf and the Middle East, I thought prior to the Iraqi war we had bases all over the area.

No, I think the Iraq war has less to do with US force projection than it does with money. The oceans of money taken from American tax payers to pay for this war would not have been possible if there was no war. The added cherry on these guys sundae of greed is the fact that they can steal Iraqi oil in addition to American tax dollars.

18. Much larger than that...
...it has to do with who controls the energy that our emerging, major competitors need to fuel their growth (c'mon you can say China, India and Russia).

19. I'm not saying it
"As far as 59 Million people voting for BushCo., there is a not insignificant amount of people that believe the election was stolen."

wasn't stolen. Whether it's 59 million, 57 million, or 54 million that voted for Bush, there's enough there that made it close either way. That's a different discussion though. I was just talking about who Rumsfeld is speaking to.

"In regard to American force presence in the Gulf and the Middle East, I thought prior to the Iraqi war we had bases all over the area."

In Saudi Arabia definately. But now we have them all over Iraq, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, probably all the other Stans, plus more than before in the Caucasus region.

"No, I think the Iraq war has less to do with US force projection than it does with money. The oceans of money taken from American tax payers to pay for this war would not have been possible if there was no war. The added cherry on these guys sundae of greed is the fact that they can steal Iraqi oil in addition to American tax dollars."

Exactly, it's all those aspects combined. Control the oil flow, increase the military machine, and get paid to provide the bombs AND the reconstruction(whether they actually recontruct anything or not). And also to change domestic policy along with it, by feeding the corporate pie hole, so that they can steal more American tax dollars.

Hell of a project.
