Urgent Help Needed in Georgia! Ralph Reed Planning to Run...
for Lt. Governor in the 2006 Georgia Election. This has been reported on the Local NPR/Public Radio News the last 2 days, and with Georgia's Diebold "Total Control" election system, Ralph Reed WILL Win in 2006.

For anyone who does NOT know who Ralph Reed is, he is (was?) the head of the Right-wing Religious extremist group "The Christian Coalition," and he was GWBush's Campaign coordinator for the South East United States for the 2004 (and maybe 2000) election.:grr:

We ALL need to start working against this, and any other RWer's that are already getting set up to steal more elections in 2006. It was reported Ralph Reed has already set up an office here in Atlanta, and is filing the necessary paperwork.

1. Aw MAN...every time I think it couldn't get any worse, it does.
ralph reed? God help us...

This is the Creature from the Black Lagoon who first recommended that the fundies start taking over at the very local level - like the school boards - where they could force their 13th century mindset on our kids. Why are people like him allowed to suck air off our planet?

5. Let me add some more insult to injury.
Here in neighboring Alabama, Roy Moore is planning a possible bid for governor. Yep, the same Roy Moore who got shit-canned from his job as Alabama's Chief Justice for sneaking a huge Ten Commadments monument onto the courthouse lawn and subsequently refusing to remove it. The costs of the whole fiasco, which approached one million dollars, were absorbed by Alabama taxpayers. the state is already facing a serious budget crisis after voters tanked a large tax hike proposed by a *Republican* governeror. Yep, that's how bad the fiscal situation is -- a Republican governor had to propose the largest tax hike in state history, which his own voting base promptly sank.

I don't think there's any question of Moore losing, should he run. The Chief Justice who has no respect for the law or the constitution is a religious hero here. He will win -- and I don't think anyone has to worry about him making the same "mistake" as his predecessor (having the integrity to propose a much-needed tax hike). Real fundies know that the poor can always eat cake.

6. I would assume he would run as a Repub
That proposal of Riley's to raise taxes, how badly did it fail? I mean, what were the actual poll results? Do you know if Riley plans to merely step aside in '06 or will he be running again?

As I recall, Siegelman (sp?) didn't lose by much in '02. Any chance he will run again?

8. Correction, Calimary
first recommended that the fundies start taking over at the very local level - like the school boards

He didn't just recommend it, he helped engineer it. He also engineered stealth campaigns for everything from school board on up, where candidates ran normal and more mainstream campaigns instead of divulging the truth about themselves or their agenda.

7. Wanna trade?
Roy Moore is running for governor over here in Alabama.

Maybe they can both run in 2008 as the Moore/Reed ticket. How horrific would that be?

9. Sure, We'll trade, as long as you take our Diebold TS Accuvote...
Machines and tabulators too. :argh:

Georgia's Lt. Governor is our last Democrat still in a position of "limited" power, But he has already said he is going to challenge our "selected" Republican Governor Purdue, instead of seeking re-election to a Second term (probably the first time in 100 years).

Probably our best hope, would be to meet with our current Democratic Secretary of State Cathy Cox, who has also said she plans on running for Governor in 2006, and urge her to do something about the Diebold machines (which IS in her sphere of control) and show her and Lt. Governor Mark Taylor, that they WILL lose, unless something is done NOW.

It won't be easy, but this type of action could change this pending disaster.:grouphug:
