Of course the freepers are saying that the dems are upset that the election went so well and we should be weeping about how wonderful it is for the Iraqi's to get the chance to vote..etc.

1. They had an election (not a Saddam sham election) 50 years ago.
As opposed to several thousand, like Bush said.

3. They voted during the British occupation
A number of times. Article somewhere on DU, yesterday, published in the Baltimore Sun. Those elections went "well," too.

4. Fuck the freepers
It depends on one's perception of "going so well."

Martial law to have an election? A major segment of the population boycotting the election? Few voters having had a chance to hear the candidates' views because the infrastructure is down in so many places? Nobody knowing what they are voting for? At a cost of thousands and thousands of Iraqi lives and orphaned children, not to mention the over 10,000 maimed American soldiers and going on 2,000 dead American soldiers? At a cost of soon to be at least $180 fucking billion of our kids's national debt (a war on MasterCard)? Oh, yeah, it went really well.

Stupid freepers just like to distract from the fact that Bush lied to the whole fucking world for his own political purposes. And not just about a well-placed cigar and a blow job.

Fuck 'em.

Just venting.

5. I heard that Allawi encouraged the candidates NOT to campaign
If the candidates don't campaign how do the voters know who they should vote for president?

Except for George Washington the people in the United States have been able to know the positions of the candidates.
