Call Bill Nelson re Gonzales: Demand a filibuster of Gonzales
Phone: (202)224 - 5274 fax (202)228-2183

Tell him that allowing someone who supports the breaking of laws to become the chief law enforecement official in the United States is a violation of Nelson's oath to protectand defend the Constitution and laws of the United States from all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC. If Nelson thinks it's OK to violate his oath of office, then he should let another Democrat replace him when his term is up.

1. You Don't Know Jack Shit About Florida Politics....
A Democrat wouldn't replace Nelson... Nelson would be replaced by a Mel (I Hate Gays) Martinez clone...

3. but that's where the similiarities end...
Matinez won the Florida primary by playing the "gay card"....

He accused McCollum of being a homophile for voting for hate crimes legislation...

4. Nelson is a Repub apologist!
I had wrote to him before the Rice confirmation urging him to vote no and he chose to become another Demopub, so makes anyone think he will oppose Gonzales. He used to be a good senator with a record of actually supporting Democratic ideas and the only good thing left in Florida politics. Now he is just another Zell Miller clone to fill the Democrats' ranks and I have no doubt his replacement when his term is up will be another Repub Bush shill like Martinez and we will officially become 100% red. Floridians vote Repub because they actually like to work from paycheck-to-paycheck, be exploited by business and have their kids' school and social programs taken away...I'm convinced of that.

6. How much worse can it get?
We've already been a Texas clone since Bush's pumpkin-head brother arrived. I'm familiar with Nelson's record and like I said he used to be loyal to his party's ideas and has done good for the state. However, while I do agree he seems like an affable guy, remember a lot of people voted for Chimp for the same shallow reason. I personally don't care about a politician's personality as much as what he does and how he votes. He could be deadpan Kerry mixed with grouchy Nixon, as long as he supports liberal ideas and not lying Neocons. Like I said, I agree he once did good for us, but now we should put him back on the shuttle and send him to the space station, along with every other Dem who gets in bed with the Bushites.

7. You sure do love Bill Nelson
Understand that if he runs he will lose. No matter how much you try to convince people otherwise.

He will only win when he grows a spine and starts to listen to his constituants a little more.

Even an autoreply once in while would be nice.

8. $100.00 Says Nelson Holds His Seat
Edited on Mon Jan-31-05 07:28 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
The loser has to pay $100.00 to the charity of the winner's choice....

Betty Castor got about 49% of the vote... That's a floor for a middle of the road Democrat in a Florida Senate race... My boy, Bill Nelson , just has to do a wee bit better....

If you're interested let me know cloer to the election...

10. No DEM will ever get more than 49% of the vote in FL
Until you fix the rigged machines and the fraud in the absentee ballots.

No matter who runs in 2006, they are not going to win unless they are acceptable to BushCo. Of course, BushCo likes to keep a few DEMS around for show. That is the only way Nelson will keep his seat, if he kisses enough BushCo ass. Too bad he doesn't understand that it will never be enough, not any more.

11. Gore won Florida. Someone with the courage to oppose torture would win
So if Nelson wants to win, he needs to oppose torture tomorrow. Otherwise, lots of Dems will stay home rather than voting for the guy who put their kids in danger of being tortured.

Gore arguably won the slimmest of pluralities....

Nelson won a clear majority...

In Florida we love our Democratic senator, we all did what we could do....

14. somebody gets it...
Actually Florida is a competitive state that leans Republican...

It is arguably the most competitive southern state at the statewide level but you would never know it by looking at who holds the governor's poition, the cabinet position, the congressional delegation, and the state house and senate...

We are holding on to Mr. Nelson's seat by the skin of our teeth....

Don't take that away from us...
