"If we feel like gambling, we'll play the slots." (AARP)
AARP seniors and corporate America are readying for a face off over *'s privatization scheme.

AARP: Don't mess with Social Security

exerpt:
AARP has not held back in letting its views be known. The group this month ran ads in 53 daily newspapers and six Capitol Hill publications slamming Bush's Social Security plans. "Winners and losers are stock market terms," declares one ad. "Do you really want them to become retirement terms?"

exerpt:
"We haven't seen screaming hysteria yet, but we will," predicted Bruce Josten, executive vice president for government affairs of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a key ally of the White House. The chamber and other business groups are mobilizing on the other side of the barricades from AARP and are expected to contact lawmakers with equal urgency.

I'm going to be working on the part of the seniors. Respect your elders.

1. Most casinos are far more regulated and have far more oversight...
...than the stock market.

2. So, they're not gonna
roll over, as they did with the drug plan? Glad to hear it. Let's hope the Dems are smart enough to use them to beat *, but I wouldn't count on it. You probably won't hear one Dem even mentioning AARP's stance on the talk shows. Strategy just isn't their "thing", I guess.:eyes:
