The Trashing of Condoleezza Rice

By Connie Lynne Carrillo
MichNews.com
Jan 29, 2005

Dr. Condoleezza Rice: magnificently accomplished and educated woman; brilliant scholar; concert pianist; gracious lady; presidential confident and trusted advisor; dedicated public servant; political giant and National Security Advisor to The President of the United States of America. And now, Secretary of State of the most powerful country on the planet. The first African-American female Secretary of State in our history.

Why would such an accomplished American woman be so savagely and viciously trashed and dishonored by the liberal elites and the left-wing Democratic Party? Not only trashed, but insulted, bad-mouthed, ridiculed and humiliated. What does a girl have to do to win the accolades and approval of these people?

Condi Rice has garnered the scorn of her Democratic colleagues, not because of what she has accomplished, but because of who and what she is. She is a black American, who is guilty of an unspeakable crime in liberal eyes. Her crime? She does not worship at the altar of the Democratic Party. Condi Rice has committed the unpardonable sin. She has dared to carve out her own political path while black.

*snip*

The Democrats haughtily assume they own black America and their votes. They ridicule and belittle any black who dares to wander off their liberal “plantation”.

3. Surely you jest ????
She is an accomplished and proven liar that has been a willing part of the instruments of government that have sent over 1300 boys and girls of this Nation to their death for no just cause.

None of the accolades, medals to Mr. Bremmer, etc. None of the educatinal degrees hanging on the walls of Dr. Rice or any other government officials. None of that can justify the life of one of those boys or girls they sent to die.

Wave your flag. Thump your Bible. Do whatever you wish. You will never be able to make that stick with the real God and Jesus that do not whisper in George Bush's ear or yours. And when the final Judgement Day does arrive. You will be standing beside George Bush & Dr. Rice and found lacking.

via your FR links, paineinthearse.

Check out the comments in this thread. Or better yet, don't and say you didn't. They have the cult under control. If anything goes wrong the next four years, it's because of abortion not Bush's policies. The democrats are falling in numbers because we are kiling off our unborn. We're only keeping our stock of democrats replenished through brainwashing the young.

Carrillo has quite a following.

14. Just cuz she plays piano
doesn't make her honest OR right for the job. "What does a girl have to do to win the accolades and approval of these people?" How about tell the truth once in a while. Listen to her 'supporters'. They never once address or even try to excuse her behaviour, her lies, her poor job performance, her lack of qualifications, her attitude, etc. Just keep saying how she "grew up in the South with all that segregation, poor black child, and she plays piano" Same goes for Gonzales. "Family of 10, father a poor immigrant, blah, blah.." They never address: the questions they won't answer, the contradictions, or the extremist, sinister agendas. Can you imagine the screaming from the right if a black female Dem claimed she deserved the job because she grew up in the South? One of the new propaganda lines from Rove is that 'Repugs do more for minorities than Dems'. Hence, the constant barrage from the Limbaugh/Hannity/et al crowd that Dems hate Condi and Gonzales because they are minorities.

16. heres the email i sent the reporter
Please educate yourself before writing if you are going to call yourself a journalist. The bashing of Condi was well deserved and she should not have been promoted. She lied to the American people about Iraq. She perpetuated a situation in Iraq that did not exist. Because of her and the Bush admin., thousands of people have died and Iraq has been destroyed. No one cares if she is black. She is responsible for mass murder. Black? Really, who cares?
While I am talking to you, I should mention that all of the main stream media that is working so hard to put out only the Bush side of things are also going to be held accountable in the end by the American people. You are contributing to the deaths of the Iraqi people and our military by continuing to act like this war is going just fine. It is not. Please educate yourself on the situation and report the truth and not your opinion of the truth. That is what a jounalist must do and like I said, in the end, we are going to be legally coming after those of your who are reporting one sided or out right lies for the government. Be on notice. We are watching you.

22. A letter to Connie
Connie,

Hate to burst your bubble. As a brown woman from a poor family and with a three letter degree, I detest Rice because she is a liar with the empathy of a soap dish who has a record of failure as a National Security Adviser. Forget about 9/11, forget about the Iraqi mushroom cloud that was not.

How much work have you done on her? When she was on the board of Chevron in Niger, she ignored pleas from the families of oil workers who were being murdered with arms Chevron supplied to the militia. This isn't a state secret.

Please. If you're going to play the race card, at least make sure there's a table there to slap it on. Otherwise, you simply make yourself look unprofessional.

39. Here's my letter to them:
Regarding Ms. Carrillo's unfounded assertion that the Democratic senators who voted "nay" to Dr. Rice's nomination did so based on her race and party affiliation:

The dissenting Senators made it quite clear that they did so based on Dr. Rice's abysmal record concerning national security on 9/11 and her uncritical support of the administration's lies concerning the alleged but non-existent WMD in Iraq and Hussein's alleged but non-existent ties to Al Qaeda. Her answers were evasive and she consistently refused to accept responsibility for putting the unfounded fear of "mushroom clouds" into the minds of the American people, merely to advance Bush's agenda of pre-emptively attacking a sovereign nation that presented NO imminent threat to this nation.

In case you haven't noticed, the Democratic senators are just as critical of Alberto Gonzales and for these reasons: he is failing our nation by agreeing to trash the Geneva conventions and letting his blind faith loyalty to Bush guide him instead of the foreign policy agreements with other nations that have served us so well for decades past. Also, like Rice, his answers are evasive and do not seek to clarify his positions but rather to protect the president. Attorneys General are supposed to support the people of the nation and uphold the rule of law, not carry water for the policies of the administration. In spite of Mr. Gonzales' shortcomings, would Ms. Carrillo assert that critical questioning of him is based on the fact that he is a non-Democratic Hispanic?

Using the race card to excuse a person from failing to perform their job in properly protecting this nation and its obligations to the world at large is infuriating. Are we to overlook a poor record and promote two people to the top cabinet positions simply because they are persons of color who belong to the Republican party? And, if so, doesn't that smack of "reverse racism" and favoritism"?

51. My email to the author..
Sorry Connie:

But you are on the wrong track. I'm a 50 year old black woman, the same as Dr. Rice. Where she and I differ is, I didn't sell my soul to become rich and powerful. Many in the black community believe that is what she did.

The issue with Dr. Rice is not race though. It's competance. And just like everyone else in the bush administration, she is an incompetant liar. I didn't need Barbara Boxer to tell me that. The casual observer of Dr. Rice already knows that as a fact.

Signed

63. Boy, is that right. Thanks for taking the trouble. Miss Connie
must be a little perturbed because her usual rant is getting an unusual response.

Thank you,
Beth

52. They are playing the race card?
to defend a person who holds one of the most powerful offices in the United State's Government?

To stoop any lower they'd have to dig a hole.

53. when you e-mail her, don't forget to ask how much she's being paid
--I have to assume that would be the ONLY reason anyone in his/her right mind could get behind any policy, directive, request or action of the Bushit administration.

taken any money from them for her writings:

". . . I have no contact with the White House or anyone in the Bush administration....in fact.. I would probably have a heart attack if any of them ever called me about anything...if they ever did offer me money to write I would immediately say no as it is against journalistic ethics to accept money from politicians...a no brainer...I have been invited to speak before political groups and always say no . . ."

yeah yeah, whatever--

58. "not worshiping at the altar of the Democratic Party"
What tripe! Rice deserved trashing not because she is a black female Republican, but because of her record as National Security Advisor:

She ignored Richard Clarke's warnings about the threat of an Al Qaeda attack in the U.S., and did nothing to prevent 9/11.

She is a proponent of the "preemptive" doctrine, which failed to rid Iraq of nonexist WMD but succeeded brilliantly in draining our treasury, killing 100,000 people, and turning the world against us.

She helped to make that war possible by scaring the public with images of "mushroom clouds." She had access to intelligence from our foremost experts at the department of energy who reported that the aluminum tubes were ill-suited for centrifuges to enrich uranium but were identical to the conventional rocket bodies for which they were designed. Nevertheless, Rice publicly stated that the tubes really couldn't be used for anything other than developing nuclear weapons.

Either she lied, or she didn't bother looking at the intelligence. In matters of war, either should disqualify her from promotion to a position as critical as Secretary of State.

Here are the Senate remarks of Senator Robert C. Byrd, who states the case more eloquently than I could ever hope to:

61. Here's what the Black Commentator thinks, Connie!
http://www.blackcommentator.com/123/123_freedom_rider_condi_and_colin.html

Who makes the worst Secretary of State? Is it better to have a smooth talking good cop who is still a snake, or a very frightening lover of the Bush doctrine who is utterly incompetent? Condoleezza Rice, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, is multi-lingual, a former provost of a major university, a figure skating champion and a classical pianist. Her bio is clearly that of a very intelligent individual, but the old adage warning against judging books by the cover must be heeded in her case.
