I remember this being an issue in the presidential campaign as well... anyone knows these e-mail systems from the party basically include a footer asking for donations on any messages that are sent out... not a concious effort by the e-mail author to raise money. But seeing that most are not sophisticated enough to distinguish this there should be someone @ the DNC to program two formats for situations such as this.
