The part of Boxer's speech that I absolutely loved..
was how she opened and closed her remarks with the thought that she
would not be detered from her constitutional duty to engage in the
process of advice and consent and to engage in rigorous debate over
such monumental issues.

She made it clear that she would not be a part of any rush to
confirm Bush's appointments. She expressed the thought that when
she swore to uphold the constitution she took it seriously.

God Bless her. When she was finished I almost felt like crying
with relief. Finally, someone with the balls to stand up for the
preservation of our democratic process in the face of the right
wing's slide into some other form of government. (Fascism, in my
opinion.)
