I hope Pelosi keeps her promise. I'm ready to see her walk the walk.

Several Democratic leaders — including Reid of Nevada, Connecticut Sen. Christopher Dodd and House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of California, escorted Bush to the Capitol. Afterward, they were heading to a congressional luncheon in the historic Statuary Hall.

While civility was the public demeanor, many Democrats planned to skip all of the other revelry surrounding the ceremony. Some made it clear that once the president's big day was over, the battle will begin anew.

Reid said in a televised interview that Bush is going to have to work with Democrats, adding that the president's pledge four years ago to unite the country has not been achieved.

Pelosi used the inaugural as a fund-raising tool. In a statement, she said, "Personally, I don't feel much like celebrating. So I'm going to mark the occasion by pledging to do everything in my power to fight the extremist Republican's destructive agenda." In an e-mail to Democratic supporters, she sought donations to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, to "tell President Bush that party time is over.

1. This is the last time
I'll go along with them, until 2006. And if they fuck it up again, I'm done with them.

4. I wrote off Joe Biden this week
I could not watch him smooch Condi. The whole "I'm going to vote for you, but FIRST, I'm going to remember that the TV cameras are on me and ask you some TOUGH QUESTIONS" charade sickened me to no end.

I couldn't believe that some folks here thought he was being tough with her, taking her to task.

Senator Boxer is to be admired for her integrity in recent months. So is John Kerry. It's not an "exclusive club." Anyone can join. If Pelosi is SERIOUS, she is NEEDED. If she's blowing smoke up the media's ass, she should be ashamed. Senator Boxer's spotlight is big enough for Senator Boxer to stand in. Pelosi needs to get her own by producing some RESULTS, by not backing down and "giving in."

She doesn't get the benefit of the doubt on this one. When she proves to be consistent and unrelenting, then she'll get my applause.

2. "The Extremist Republican's Destructive Agenda"
Is that extremist Republican's (meaning Bush) or extremist Republicans' (meaning the party)?

Probably the latter. Typcial of Fox to not know how to use an apostrophe.
