Shall I Despair Today?
No, I don't think so.

One thing I have learned in my 52 years is that hubris is truly always followed by nemesis. The problem is that for us, the victims, it is not always the nemesis we want, in the time frame that we want.

Sadly, this is largely an unfair world. More sadly, it seems that in this country, sociopathology is institutionalized across the societal spectrum and it is rewarded. But the thing about that sad posit is that said people always go too far and always end up dealing with the ramifications of their actions.

Already, we see opposition forming in congress and in society for some of the wilder-haired ideas and plans of these people who celebrate today. They are sociopaths, who have somehow organized themselves into the ruling claque. It is normal and natural for this opposition to grow, as people who supported them fall away, saying "I didn't vote for this!"

So, today I do not despair. I look forward to the follies. They will come. I will survive, and if I get enough daylight that I can run towards, I will prosper and prevail.
