A post to Dean supporters
I know some of you may be a little raw right now. Please don't think that all of the posts discussing Dean's speech last evening are all attack posts.

Dean made news with his speech last night. It would be quite strange if we didn't discuss it. The speech had different effects on different people.

My first reaction was shock. Then I saw him smiling. HE was having fun. I really thought that was kewl. My only concern after that was how it will effect new comers. There are those of us who know Howard Dean because we've been so involved over the past few months to a year. There are some who are new, and are there are some who are just waking up.

I think you guys as Dean supporters and I have already started as a democrat, need to make sure that the new comers don't get all of their first impression information from the talking heads and pundits. Consider this a great opportunity to discuss the Howard Dean phenomenon and tell the story of his candidacy and where the energy and excitement came from last night.

This is a great opportunity. Use it. Frame the speech to make sure that newbies to the 2004 race know what the "Deal-ieo" is and how it is good for the campaign and cause.

This isn't flame bait. I'm trying to be positive and honest. I hope it came through.

2. Yep it was a great speech
a Faux panel of nitwits was just talking about it and a woman who's name escapes me said she was there and the reaction in the hall was exactly the opposite. She thought it was a good, wild get the troops excited speech that maybe went a tad overboard but not really bad. Yes, he should know the difference between a hall full of workers and a national audience but you know what?

I bet he's smart enough to learn.

3. Bingo! Bingo!
"Then I saw him smiling. HE was having fun."

Dean was rallying his troops. His cheerleading was fun. People see what they want to see. Anyone looking even somewhat objectively will see that Howard Dean was beaming from ear to ear and cheerleading his troops who might have otherwise been downbeat.

And check out all of the polls released today regarding New England. Kerry takes points away from Clark...and Dean? Dean is still sitting right on top where he should be.

4. I have to say though, Clark should and will be on top, just a
not so objective way of looking @ the NH contest.

5. I liked the speech
Feeling demoralized, it was great to see the vigor.

But if I see another thread about it, I'm going to vomit. There should have only been at least two threads (one for the people who spin it negative and one for those who spin it positive/neutral). How many threads do we need?

6. On to the SOTU speech in about 50 minutes
and I'm sure it will round out the week in the news unless another high profile rape or murder takes place.
