Kerry/Clark supporters: Kerry/Clark ticket?
While the Dean/Clark Clark/Dean threads worked their way through DU, I alway put Clark at the top...

But, as much as I am a Clark supporter, I feel that in such a scenario with Kerry, Kerry is more presidential and would be a stronger lead on the ticket based on his senate career.

I believe the only weakness there would be the Massachusetts liberal charge. (I'm from the south and it doesn't matter to me but ... you know how some folks are!)

No, I'm not picking Kerry over Clark, but in such scenario I would expect Kerry to be the top of the ticket.

Just my thoughts.

My guys in order below:

1. That wouldn't be too bad..
I'd also take a Clark/Edwards ticket.

2. My picks also...
But it is way to early to say who will be first on the ticket.

3. Any Combination Would Be Great
my only concern is the way in which Kerry and Clark treat each other this week - I hope nothing is said or done that cannot be bridged later on.

4. Sounds great to me
A Kerry/Clark team would be the best combination to have any chance of beating Bush. I'd think that Clark would consider running with Kerry far more than he would with Dean.

5. Kerry/Clark
would take Bush to task on national security. It's a really strong ticket in that regard - they have credibility and experience coming out of their butts.

And Clark/Edwards or Edwarsd/Clark could kill in the South.

I don't know about Edwards/Kerry though, for some reason, the combo doesn't go well with me, even though I really like both. I don't think Clark complements Kerry and Edwards better than they complement each other.

6. I don't think so.
The General is running for top spot, and Kerry has way too many contacts to need to rely on a current primary opponent. If tied down to just primary candidates, I'd guess Kerry/Edwards well before Kerry/Clark.

7. That would be phenomenal...
And I've been thinking lately at how in some instances Clark was specific about not taking the VP slot under Dean but don't recall whether he was as adamant about not taking it under Kerry.

10. Works for me.
However, I disagree that Kerry is more Presidential. I think they're equal. Just mho.

Kerry/Edwards was my first choice last summer. Then I switched to Clark with the Draft Clark movement. Haven't focused much on a VP candidate.

Clark/Kerry

Kerry/Clark

Clark/Edwards

Kerry/Edwards

12. Kerry/Edwards
Sorry, that's my heart and soul ticket. I toyed around with the idea of Clark, but in the end I want known commodities in the White House.

13. Kerry/Clark or Clark/Kerry would win the nomination
but I don'tknow how well they would come together on the issues.

14. Too much national security for my taste
Kerry Edwards works for me, though I would prefer to see a black or a woman on the ticket.

15. kerry/Clark has been the Wise ticket from the start.

The only purpose of the primaries at this point is to give them
more exposure state to state.

16. Clark/Kerry
As I noted on an earlier thread Clark has said he is not interested in the VP slot. That is not the place or purpose for his candidacy. Kerry's background makes him most suitable as President of the Senate. I don't think Clark is suited for this role. He does not have the background for it and it does not utilize what he brings to the table. I would vote for it but don't think Kerry would pick Clark either. They are to much alike in their strengths and I think Edwards would be a more likely choice for Kerry. I think leadership and elect-ability favor Clark, but that's just my opinion.

17. Mmmm...
Disagree that Kerry is more "Presidential".

If Kerry won, Edwards would be much better for him. Warmth, personality, southern votes and not too much of a "top dog" kind of guy. I don't mean that in a bad way. It's just that someone like Clark, or Kerry for that matter, isn't the type that got this far to play second fiddle.

As for Clark, Kerry wouldn't be a bad choice, with the exception given above. Clark actually needs a Washington insider to help him in DC. He said he would prefer a female running mate, though.

18. Clark/Edwards.
I am from Massachusetts, and Kerry doesn't wear well. Edwards, by contrast, would be great.

20. Kerry is unacceptable
and I hope Clark doesn't fall for DLC pressure to take Kerry as VP.
