4. The excitement generated by...

...this whole thing makes me wish I was younger and less jaded, it makes me wistful for that time when I was new to politics and had not seen so many elex cycles come and go.

Then, I would have been much more excited. But now, I know it is just a blip. I am thankful they stood up and did it, but it will become nothing more than a historical footnote, like the prior ones the news media are now referring to in context of this move.

I have seen this thing before. Our government moves like a glacier, gradually wearing down movements of great import and potential into a small and evenly distributed common denominator.

The Congress is at work grinding this one down at present.
