Clark headquarters watches Iowa results and waits their turn
Edited on Tue Jan-20-04 02:22 PM by Skinner
Jan 19--Gen. Wesley Clark’s headquarters expressed optimism as the Iowa Caucuses returns came in, relieved that their nightmare scenario did not become reality.

“I guess the worst case scenario would have been if the front runner, the guy who had all the money had come away with a huge win might have added an air of inevitability to this race that we weren’t seeing,” New Hampshire state director Steve Bouchard said.

“A Dean landslide. That would have been hard,” spokesman Matt Bennett said.

Instead, the results of the Iowa Caucuses gave the campaign a boost. Spokesman Jamal Simmons said, “All bets are off. The race is wide open.”
