When you feel the urge to make a big generalization about yesterday...
Don't. The wise man knows that he knows nothing.

Now snatch the pebble from my hand, grasshopper. Again. Again. Again....

3. Loud and Clear: Clark doesn't care about Iowa.
You're right.

5. I must have missed Dean's "thank you" to Iowans
Clark got in the race late, it was a question of strategy. Dean's been campaigning actively in Iowa for over a year and only mustered 18% of the caucus. Sounds loud and clear to me.

9. That is simply unnecessary
Why can't you let Dean supporters have their opportunity to communicate and discuss without a drive-by insult. It does your candidate (and mine) no service.

11. As another wise man, Yogi Berra, once said...
"Some people, if they don't know, you can't tell 'em."

Thanks for an intelligent response.

6. What is The Sound of One Hand Clapping?
A slap across the face. My favorite koan, and what you deserve for trying to start a positive thread.

Oh, here's my sweeping generalization: The weather in Iowa sucks! And you know that song in "The Music Man" about the "Iowa way to treat you/If we greet you/Which we may not do at all"? It's all true. My family is from Adair Co, so I know.

7. Much ado about something
There were lessons meted out in Iowa. They do not touch upon Clark except in an encouraging way, that persona and momentum and the voters actually matter. In no way does it decide the race, but it has unburied all of Dean's main rivals.

If anyone's pontificating or predictions come true it would be by more luck than anything else at this point. It has to be a good healthy candidate versus candidate case taken to the voters. The round of endorsements and the justifiable advantages Dean was taking were a risk of their own, but it will still come down to the voters- not to endorsements, hoodwinking or negative ads. Why do we always credit campaign strategists and theories? Those left standing will make or break their chances on their own. This time we have superior choices which makes it hard since three or four of them would have won past Presidential primary seasons handily.
