Can someone explain what Dean threw into the crowd last night?
It was orange or red and he pulled it out of his back pocket. This followed the rolling up of the sleeves which I get- he is going back to work but what was the thing he threw into the crowd? What was that supposed to mean? Was it like the red flag coaches in the NFL throw to protest a call?

I don't mean this as criticism or anything like that I just didn't understand what was going on there. I saw it this morning, I didn't stay up to watch the whole thing last night.

3. Probably a hat
The Dean campaign had lots of orange winter caps they gave to campaign workers in Iowa, Dean may have autographed one and kept it as a crowd pleaser...
