Our Caucus was packed with people!
We were expecting 100-150 people and wound up with 271! Ran out of chairs, had to go find more, and ran out again. I'm hoping this is an indication of how Democrats are going to turn out in November.

1. Great news! It seems to have been that way

all over Iowa.

We can win big in November with good turnout -- and a good nominee will get good turnout. People know this is important.

3. Wouldn't that be great?
I thought that was the best news all day! The turnout makes me so hopeful that people really do want to get rid of Bush! I love these inside-the-caucus stories!

(BTW, I visited Iowa in August, and I thought it was just a very beautiful state.)

7. I'm in Coralville
After speaking to several co-workers today, it sounds like every precinct had a very high turnout.

12. Kerry, Edwards, Dean
The rest of the candidates weren't viable. People didn't seem to mind the wait in line to get in or the amount of time it took to organize such a crowd. We were prepared to stay as long as needed if it helps to beat Bush in November. Everyone I talked to said they will actively support whoever gets the nomination, they just want Bush out of the White House.

11. Exciting election year
I heard one of the pundits say that the dems have their "game face" on this year. That in many primaries people tend to vote with their hearts, but this year we are focusing on winning back the WH, even during the caucus/primary season. He mentioned the reasons being "anger" (there's that word again!) re: the stolen election and * right-wing policies. Predicted record turn-out in November. We'll see.
