Question regarding Republican tactics vs. FOIA and filibustering
I have recently (over the past several months) heard stirrings of two ominous next steps in the Republican takeover of the country. While both seem plausible and have been endorsed by Republicans, I don't know how they plan on carrying them out, and thus I don't know how to fight them. They are assault on the Freedom of Information Act and on senatorial filibustering. If anyone could give me information on how this is to be done, that would be great. Thanks!

1. The filibuster is, unfortunately, quite easily gone. It would just
involve Dick Cheney, as presiding senate officer, ruling that the filibuster is unconstitutional, and then Bill Frist tabling any objections the Democrats are sure to raise about the move. The only thing holding the Repukes back are public opinion and the worry that someday down the road they may be in the minority and need the filibuster as much as the Dems need it now.
