Time for the compromises to stop: 55 million plus voted "no compromise"
The hatred of Bush drove these millions to the polls - not the goal of compromise. OK, so the vote was rigged. It's time our leaders stopped acting as if these tens of millions of Democrats don't count as much as the Bush supporters. The Bush supporters are extremists who will never support a Democrat, no matter how much the Democrat compromises. Our leaders need to represent us. If they compromise with those who seek to destroy our civil liberties and our environment, it's time we kicked them out in the primaries and elect leaders who will represent us. The first two good tests are Gonzales and the contesting of the elections. If they fail to filibuster Gonzales or fail to contest the election, they will have given the middle finger to the 55 million plus voters who voted in opposition to the Bush policies.

1. And you speak for 55 million voters?
You don't speak for me. And I believe that bushco won. Yes, I'd like to see Gonzalez filibustered, but I have no interest in having one of my Senators contest the election. I look at the overall record of those who represent me when I go to the polls. I understand the outrage of people who believe that the election was stolen, but I believe you're a tiny minority of Kerry voters, and it's presumptuous as all get out to speak for all of us.

2. Thanks for spewing the message of the MSM
Only a few extreamists and tin-foil hatters think the election is stolen - right?

We did not have a fair and honest election in Ohio.

3. Never claimed that Ohio
had a fair and honest election. There is, from what I can see, evidence of widespread mismanagement, fraud and voter suppression. Whether or not that fraud was enough to throw the election to bushco is another matter. As far as the gratuitous MSM remark, it is possible to come to a conclusion that differs from yours without having been brainwashed by the all powerful MSM,

4. We're doomed
I have no faith in the democratic party now. They cannot form a coherent message on anything. Have you heard any dems pointing out how Bush's 87 billion dollars wasn't even spent on armoring the troops? And I love how the dems voted to pass the repug spending bill with pretty much all of their sleazy secret riders intact. They seem to be pretty much just like the republicans at this point. They don't give a damn about civil liberties, medicare, labor, social security, reproductive freedom, and whatever other issues used to differentiate them from the repugs. I have seen no evidence that they are doing anything except what their corporate sugar daddies order.

There are the glimmers of hope like Dean that the partys "leadership" (DLC) is intent on smothering. It's really sickening.
