I spent the evening with Kerry Volunteers in DC tonight...
...and it was the best time I've spent in a very long time.

I am in DC from South Carolina and posted here last night looking for any Democratic activities that might be going on. I was invited to a Kerry Caucus party for DC volunteers (by amen1234) and campaign staffers. The room was electric as the results came in and we were glued to the TVs and each others company throughout the night. The crescendo came with Kerry's speech which was the best that I've seen from him throughout the year, including speeches that I have seen in person (in SOuth Carolina). The energy of this campaign is becoming impossible to ignore and I am looking forward to celebrating Kerry's inauguration in Jan of 2005. (I'll meet everyone back at the Hawk and Dove on Inaguration Night).

My thanks to Carole and Trish and amen1234 and Mike and Chad and everyone I met this evening- I can assure all of my SC compatriots- southern warmth is alive and well in DC, at least with the Kerry campaign folks.

Congrats to all of the nominees and campaign workers- the Democratic Party has lots to be proud of this evening.
