Stephonopolous "The whitehouse would've loved to run against Howard Dean"
Edited on Mon Jan-19-04 11:49 PM by DaisyUCSB
Peter Jennings asked him how Bush was feeling tonight, George said, not good and then said that.

This isn't a bash thread and I'm not saying I even know if he's right. (my dad, a former strategist for statewide candidates here agrees with him) but sometimes you never know

I'm just posting it because all the opinions of prominent people should be out there and read, and considered

1. Like all those endorsements of Dean?
A lot of people have rejected those opinions out of hand.

4. Bush probably not feeling so good tonight
If he has any sense at all, he sees that he will lose in November.

Not that Stephanopolous would ever admit that. The turnout is Iowa was amazing, and early reports show that the Iraq war is not the voters' main issue.

If the war was the driving issue of the race, Bush would just pull the troops out and claim that everything was fine in Iraq. The whore media would fix it for him. But if Iowa is any indication, people are voting the economy. And Bush is totally, completely incapable of fixing that.

He's toast and I hope he doesn't close his eyes all night.

15. Yes.....that's our Steph...came in with Clinton....turned on him and went
to Whore for the Media. Watching what he turned into on ABC has been amazing. Did you see his "Exclusive Interview" with James Baker at the start of the Iraq Invasion? He had to go to Baker's office and sit in a chair across from Baker to interview him. Bake was seated "Presidentially" with two American flags behind him and his red and blue striped tie on with the off-white shirt, looking "very Presidential" as Steph fawned and flirted and deferred to the "other man behind the thrown." The one who "runs" Cheney.

7. First, the primaries aren't over, so Steph may have to eat his words.
Which wouldn't be new for him. Second, who gives a shit what Bush thinks about anything? :hi:

8. Translation: Dean scares the poop out of Rove and Co.
Notice the use of the past tense, as if we should take Rove's word that Iowa is definitive. The White House would love nothing better than to write Dean's obituary. He reminds them far too well of the man who beat Poppy in '92.

9. You bet. Its so apparent the way Dean has been monopolizing the airwaves
and so negatively at that. Theyve been on a rampage to damage him since they realized how popular the Dean movement really is.

12. Anybody notice Joe Scarborough last night? He was..
absolutely depressed by Dean's loss. He was pale and sullen. Poor guy. He was so looking forward to Dean as the nominee.

16. Do people named George just universally suck?
Excluding McGovern, of course...he must've been some cosmic inbalance.

Later.
