Does every channel have to cut off Edwards for Dean?
Edited on Mon Jan-19-04 10:45 PM by DaisyUCSB
I was really enjoying Edwards speech, and then they all went to Dean looking sort of disturbing. I can't really describe how he was. It sort of came off as a fake excitement masking being upset, made annoying maybe only because I was mad about not being able to see the rest of Edwards

Anyway, could/should Dean have waited till Edwards was done, or could one cable or C-Span channel have stayed on Edwards?

1. That media
They go where the news is... unfortunately, they'll revel in a candidate's loss instead of focusing on a candidate's victory.

2. Yes, you see that's the negative press Dean's getting. They show him angry
so that people don't vote for him, even if it means that they have to completely ignore Edwards to do so.

3. Edwards sure is a class act.
I thought he was very gracious. They should have let him finish.

4. That upset me
I did not want Edwards cut off like that, I was enjoying his speech a heck of a lot more.

7. I think Dean could had more of a choice
I'm not an Edwards backer(although I could become one) but I don't think you should excuse Dean for that

8. Edwards makes great speeches
and Dean should have waited for him to finish, or at least pause. Gephardt waited for Dean to finish his naming of every state before starting his concession speech.

Oh, and... Hey, DaisyUCSB -- GO GAUCHOS! (UCSB 1992)

11. Sadly, The Self Destruction Of A Democratic Candidate Takes Precedence.
I feel really awful for Dean and his supporters.

12. They ALWAYS screw Edwards.
I've been disengaged for a few weeks now--finding out that Edwards got #2 in Iowa is great.

But lord knows he had to fight tooth and nail for it. He's always getting screwed by the media. His announcement was overshadowed by Clark....he placed ABOVE the frontrunner but they cut to Dean anyway... I'd love to know when he's going to get some media attention on his own.
