I say your guy because I suppose that I didn't support DK in the primaries, although I definately do like the guy and agree with a lot of what he says. I think that part of the reason that more people don't take him seriously (besides the fact that his ideas challenge the democratic establishment) is the fact that he is only a Congressman. If DK were to win a US Senate race in Ohio, I guarantee that the party would not only start listening to what he has to say, but take his possible future candidacy for presidency, very seriously.

1. If John Kerry didn't win Ohio,
what makes you think that Kucinich can win a statewide race?

2. what makes you think he can't?
Dennis' talk of peace and social justice go a long way with Catholic voters that Kerry lost over abortion.

4. Maybe DK isn't interested in being a senator?

Does anyone know if he's expressed an opinion about the possibility?

The Senate is a clubbier, more House of Lords sort of place. Personally, I think they could use a man with links about polka and kielbasa on his homepage, but maybe Dennis doesn't want to work with a bunch of stuffed shirts. In the House, there are Progressives. I think Paul Wellstone was the only senator to belong to the Progressive Caucus.

7. he hasn't
He hasn't expressed any interest in it so far, and there is no way he would win. He is way too far left to win a statewide race in Ohio, he is only a congressman from Ohio because his district is Cleveland. Statewide he would not win.
