he was running against Harkin who IS Iowa democratic politics-even Harkin's backing couldn't help him

4. Clinton lost both Iowa and NH in 1992
He got 3% of Iowa in 1992.
I'm fairly certain that's the point.

The only respect in which they are similar is that they are moderates whom most people consider to be liberals

Clinton Entered the race much later then Dean did. Didn't he not have the kind of organization that Dean had in Iowa? Comparing Dean and Clinton just doesn't work logically.
