What's happening: Gephardt is not viable in many precincts
Edited on Mon Jan-19-04 08:49 PM by ringmastery
He's getting just under 15% and his supporters are swarming to Kerry and Edwards in the second round.

This is really amazing.

3. It's simple
He did a POOR JOB as opposition party leader and people want someone to FIGHT for them at this point. He didn't need to be angry, he just needed to be effective and he wasn't.

9. So far..
this is completely backwards from what we were all thinking just one week ago. This caucus stuff is a crazy game, but it's still early.

11. Maybe a lot of other people besides me recall him grinning with * in the
Rose Garden at the IWR signing...
I agree he's a pretty decent guy but that moment was seminal.

12. Not looking good for Gep so far
If Gep doesn't do well here, what other states does he do good? Also, remember this doesn't determine the nominee, only who gets a strong start with media attention. But many eventual nominees have lost Iowa.

13. Karma---he attacked Dean and now he's paying for his nastiness
He went really nasty against Dean, spewing lie after lie and distorting Gov. Dean's record, I am happpy that he's been written off. I hope the drops out soon; survival of the fittest at work.

15. If he does not win, he is done
Edited on Mon Jan-19-04 09:06 PM by Virgil
That is his region of the country. Even a second place is just proof of his chances being zero. Stick a fork in him. He is done.

Dan Rather said entry polling indicated Kerry would win. The results are on the Internet if anyone can get a server- http://www.caucus2004.org
