Why are there more abortions under Bush than under Clinton ??
For a Party that is so anti-abortion, how do they explain this small detail? With their emphasis on "moral values" and such, one would think such "immoral" acts would have declined under their leadership?

2. "Fear to bring children into this world"
Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks

You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly

Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain

You fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud

You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins

How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead

3. The Economy
Under Clinton the job market was booming and women felt that they could handle having children. Under * the job market is soooooo bad that women can't afford to have children. Plus with health care cost rising who can afford to have children or even get sick for that matter. Under this asshole the future of this county is just going downhill and I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel until we get him out of office. He has ruined us and it is going to take years before we get out of this mess were in.

6. not just the economy
programs that provide information regarding birth control have been restricted to the "just say no to sex" rhetoric

other sources that did provide contraceptives such as condoms, diaphrams, the "pill" etc have also had their budgets cut and/or restrictions put on them as to what they can dispense

people are getting less information and help in preventing births in the first place -- so you have an increase in pregnancy

4. It's Clinton's fault... and I'm not kidding...
Edited on Sun Nov-28-04 09:29 AM by Dawgs
They say Clinton gave out condoms to high school kids when he was President. I'm not sure how that explains the increase in abortion now, but that is what they say. Of course this makes sense if you think giving out condoms increases the amount of sex kids are having. I would guess that pregnancies have increased as well.

Realizing HS kids are going to have sex, and trying to prevent unwanted pregnancies makes sense to me. I guess it's one of those "close your eyes and pretend your kids are perfect" things that Republicans do.

5. Pro-abortion Texas judges were Bush appointees
I bet there are people having more abortions because they can't afford to raise their babies in this economy.

Besides, think about it: Each aborted fetus is one less soldier to die for Halliburton.

8. Please provide a link to substantiate this claim
I would love to be able to use this little fact, but there is no hard data that I can find to substantiate! The NIH stopped reporting abortion rates when Bush took office.

It isn't merely more than under Clinton. It's the reversal of a 20 year downward trend in the number of abortions. remember "Safe, legal, rare"?

11. Abstinence Only sex ed.
When the kids are past abstaining, they don't have the knowledge or tools to prevent pregnancy, because the schools are forbidden to teach them.

with crime as well. I know I read the numbers shot up .
It's a characteristic of bad economies, totalitarian societies.
As for the "Moral Values" BS, I hope everyone here knows it's just the name on the weapon. When the "V" chip was offered to the family values crowd, none wanted it. I bet though , they would have loved for every liberal to be FORCED to install one....

18. Republicans are too stupid to make the connection between abortion rates
and the economy. For them, the issue is too "complex" to understand.

Bad economy, loss of jobs, loss of health insurance, increase in poverty rates ... means there will be more women who have no other choice than to have an abortion. Over 59 Million Americans have shown that they give a shit about the poor and needy. Actually, they have shown that they give a shit about America. As long as you give birth to the baby, they are satisfied. They give a shit about what happens to the mother or to the child after he or she is born. They are satisfied with a poor economy, poverty, and children dying from lack of health care, as long as two people of the same sex can't marry.

By election Bush for 4 more years they have made sure that even more women see no other choice than to have an abortion.

Half of Americans and the rest of the world are shaking their heads in disbelieve. How can so many people be so utterly ignorant?
