Thanksgiving Turkey & Fahrenheit 9/11
Edited on Sat Nov-27-04 01:50 PM by insane_cratic_gal
I have reps in my family. So for thanksgiving I brought home Fahrenheit 9/11 for the viewing audience.

It actually had quite an effect on them. My dad who voted for him, actually sat through the whole thing. I was proud of him for that.

His comment when the credits rolled was: "that asshole!..Freaking Moron" Thanks to Moore's film I think he converted, a bit too late but his eyes are open.
Later on he commented "Maybe it's a blessing Kerry didn't win, otherwise he would of inherited the Bush's mess. Bush needs to clean his own laundry now."

Anyone of you get your reps family to sit down and watch it?

3. part of the experiment
My dad and other family memebers were heavily infulenced by fox news propaganda, country music (pushers of "patritosm" in * form)All of the bad press over Kerry.

So in short I wanted to test liberal propaganda. I wanted to see what effective, or opinion they would have after viewing it. I can't speak to them and be heard on my views(pre-tape) after, the conversation was easier, they were more receptive to critism of Bush. In essence there was no rush to support the views of the current administration. Words of Idiot flew around the table a few times. Saudi's ect.. their stance on Iraq changed dramatically after viewing the footage.

However, the favor of Kerry didn't improve, based on my observations in the film there is no bias towards a presidental elect. Only against one. The media blasted people with flip flopper and all of the negative campaigns really did damage his image.

My parents are average joe workers, to see the change in their opinions was a bit suprising to me. I thought perhaps after the film was over they would refute and agrue to defend. Not one of them did.

Now if we could only tie people down in the red-states and make them watch it.
