Pre-Caucus Polling
Come on, that's just ridiculous.

The media has nothing to talk about but they're saying Kerry leads on interviews going in.

CAN SOMEONE TELL THESE IDIOTS AND CLOWNS TO GET A LIFE

2. I don't get caucuses
I understand people stand in different corners of the room for their candidate, but how do they report the votes?

7. chairperson records the votes
those with 15% send delegates up the chain to the next level.

everyone has to stand up and say why they support their candidate

10. Is it winner take all?
In other words, if Kerry supporters overwhelm a certain district, then do ALL the delegates from that district represent Kerry? I don't get it...and they never explain it.

12. No, this is not winner take all.
There's proportional representation, with a minimum threshold of 15% in each caucus to be able to send at least one delegate to the next level.

11. yes they gather in groups
do a first vote to determine who has "viable" strength (15%) and then 2nd vote for nonviables

it's musical chairs democracy....

13. its like this
they divide up, count up groups, figure out who has 'viablility', divide the 'non-viables', then allocate delegates based on previous dem voters per locale.

If a lot of republicans show up to vote - thats fine, but they wont really have much impact (because there arent a lot of delegates available from those caucuses)... if a lot of new voters show up in an area that traditionally votes pub - their impact is limited... etc etc...

it's pretty complicated - in fact, i like it. i think you should have to take time away from American Idol and defend your take on America. Every one of those people attending those caucuses is a hero in my book.

9. Instead of "exit polls" we now have "enter polls?"
Is that what they're doing?
