Wondering about the intelligence bill
It appears that Bush supported it.

It appears the Pentagon does NOT support it, and contacted Repubs in Congress to kill it.

Now it appears that Bush fighting for its revival.

Are they playing a "you can't blame me I tried" so that Bush has deniability when it doesn't go through?

Or are Bush and Rummy playing tug of war with this bill? Is Bush testing his leash, showing some self-will for once?

(side note: I was watching cable news report about the intelligence bill when they said that they had a prominent Democrat to talk to who was supporting the President in this matter. I rolled my eyes when it turned out to be Leibermann. Dude, just get it over with and go Darkside already, okay?)

And then there's the embarrassing tax return amendment that was added to a bill (cable, wasn't it) that no one wants to take credit for adding.

And the voice count for Delay that no one appears proud of.

I swear the Republicans are showing signs that they will not be one big happy family for the next 4 years. Or am I reading too much into normal government activity. I don't normally pay this much attention, doncha know.
