Anyone know what the aggregate numbers on caucus goers are?
Seems to me this might be the real story. If there is a huge activist turnout of Democrats, regardless of their favorite, I think that bodes well. If we get a big turnout, it will prove that we are motivated to get rid of the unselected pretender who stumble's around Al's White House.

Interesting that CNN seems to downplay the turnout...too cold, voters have better things to do, etc.....

And another thing, I kinda hope we are completely deadlocked going into the convention. Why?

(1) The Republican machine will not be able to concentrate their smear power on one candidate.
(2) The longer it's a horserace, the more the focus remains on our candidates and our message. That should further excite our base.
(3) A longer race will force the candidates to sharpen their positions against the policies of this criminal administration if they want to grab the ring.
(4) I can't get enough of the GD:Campaign 2004 Slamfest.

2. Wolfie just said turnout could be significant.....maybe double earlier
projections. Nothing but good news for Dems, regardless of the Iowa outcome.

3. I agree
A close race right up to the convention will electrify the base and captivate the country. There'd be less room in the papers and newscasts for chimpy fluff stuff. And here's the kicker:

Everyone who takes the time to vote in their primary is sure as heck going to vote in the GE. GOTV starts NOW!

4. C span said they expect 100,000 Dems to caucus.
That seems low but that is what I heard.

Woof

5. Keep in mind that this is not a situation
where you walk in, cast a ballot, and walk out. At BEST it takes up two hours of your life. That's an important reason why turnout seems so low. If you work, if your kid has a basketball game tonight, anything at all that doesn't free you up to spend the time starting promptly at 6:30 pm, you can't go even if you want to. No such thing as absentee balloting here.

On the face of it, the caucus seems very democratic, but it's not really.
