She DID threaten legal action against the DU and members of the DU; that is a fact and shouldn't be marginalized.
The money aspect of it: I'd encourage you to know what your donations are going for when you donate to her. I think there are a lot of folks here who are pinning their hopes on her riding in and turning over the vote in Florida so Kerry becomes president. She's been doing a lot of fundraising here on the DU that I think gives false hope to these people - distraught after the election, wanting to have a different result. Heck, if I knew she could go and overturn the vote in Florida, I'd give her my last dollar in a heartbeat.
But that's not what she's doing; she's out to prove fraud and investigate and make her movie. She WILL find some proof of fraud. I'm pretty sure about that.
But, so what?
We already have proof of fraud in prior elections; what will be accomplished? Here we have a little team of folks from Washington State going into the deep South, where the courts tend to be really Republican, and not take too kindly to outsiders telling them how they should conduct themselves. How do you THINK this is all going to work out?
Of course, I could be 100% wrong (and I hope I am, I really do).
The latest news I've been able to find is here:
http://www.news-journalonline.com/NewsJournalOnline/Opinion/Editorials/03OpOPN82112204.htmVolusia County. Bev can inspect the ballots in 50 precints; they're talking about hand recount potential here. Election folks think the machines will be proven to be accurate and tamper-proof - something we already know to be untrue by the very nature of electronic voting machines.
