Abortion Non-Discrimination Act (ANDA)
Are y'all familiar with this. It may be a duplicate. But I just wanted to make anyone who wasn't already aware of it familiar with what this is.

"Discrimination is Not a Moral Value

Abortion Non-Discrimination Act (ANDA)

In spite of what the name might indicate, this legislation does not protect women seeking abortion services from discrimination. Instead, it would allow any health care provider or institution (not just religious entities) to refuse to provide, pay for, or even refer for abortion for any reason. Supporters of this bill claim this is a matter of religious freedom.

With the reelection of President Bush, the conservative right has claimed it is the moral majority in this country. But we know there is nothing moral about preventing women's access to needed health care services. "

2. Get used to it.
When women are forced to abort their children with coat hanger in back alleys we can all take little comfort in the fact that we didn't vote for this Christo-Fascist regime.

3. At risk of stating the obvious:
Edited on Mon Nov-22-04 01:19 PM by Donald Ian Rankin
If you are a pacifist do not join the army.
If you believe fossil fuels are destroying the environment do not work for Shell.
If you believe that abortion is immoral do not get a job wherein you are expected to facilitate it.

Or conversely:

If you join the army you have no right to refuse to fight.
If you work for shell you have to right to refuse to drill for oil.
If you are a health care provider you have no right not to provide abortions.

This is dull. Everyone is going to agree. Is anyone willing to play devil's advocate, and try and defend this bill?

4. There is no constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right
of medical providers to discriminate against women.

The Orwellian depths this country is sinking into is just mind-boggling.
